Notes

Leipzig still has many old Tatra T4D trams, and I mean many. Interestingly, it recently got rid of all newer T6A2 trams, though, of which it never had that many to begin with. The basic design of this tram built in Czechoslovakia can be traced back all the way to the american PCC car.

They are mostly seen in the three car combination shown here, consisting of two motor cars and a trailer. The trailer is a newer replacement trailer, completely low-floor. Leipzig also has old, high-floor trailers and high-floor trailers rebuilt to be partly low-floor. What I find interesting is that the second motor car’s pantograph isn’t up, which seems to be standard in Leipzig. Maybe it’s not needed on Leipzig’s mostly flat net, or maybe there’s a different connection somewhere, I don’t know.
